A 28-year-old man was arrested for throwing two Molotov cocktails at the window of a congressman’s office on the anniversary of 9/11 last week.

Fox 4 reported that Eric King of Kansas City, MO, was taken into custody on Wednesday for the attack on US Representative Emanuel Cleaver.

The bottles were filled with alcohol and lit with a fuse, but neither weapon caught fire as was presumably intended. The only damage was a broken window.

Police determined that the paper towels that were lit on fire in the bottles went out soon after they were thrown.

King was named a suspect through surveillance footage from a Bank of America nearby and identified by detectives who knew him from previous run-ins with the law.

According to Fox 4, the footage shows King throwing a hammer through an office window and lighting the bottles.

He was wearing a backpack carrying red spray paint, charcoal lighter fluid and a plastic bottle covered in a long sock when police arrested him as he left his apartment.

Police then found a hand-written letter titled “Operation House Committee” in his apartment, the contents of which instructed how to make a Molotov cocktail.

The letter also named other targets, such as the Federal Reserve and several banks.

According to Fox 4, it read,

The Missouri congress has been a willing partner in the US governments (sic) capitalist war hungry agenda.

Facebook posts King had made contributed to his arrest as well.
